December 2011: The mystery was that Alison did not know we were going to Goolwa for a Coorong Cruise...
Drove down from Adelaide to Goolwa, had a look around in the sunshine, a drink in the local pub followed by dinner at Ginger & Spice. Next day we decided to take a scenic drice around Lake Alexandrina, upon which it started raining. Nothing left but to take Alison wine tasting in Langhorne Creek, which is a mainly red wine area. Back to Goolwa for wine tasting at Ballast Stone followed by lunch overlooking the water (and rain). The water cleared enough for a stroll to take dinner at the Corio Hotel. The following day, after a hearty breakfast at Hector's Cafe, we boarded our 6 hour cruise of the Coorong. The weather improved so we had a fabulous day crusing down past the mouth of the Murray to Cattle Point. An excellent trip with a lot of wildlife: wetland birds (including the emu) and seals.
